Neil Gaiman
Neil Gaiman, born in Porchester in England in 1960, is a journalist interested in rock music, an author of refined graphic novels, TV and radio scriptwriter and one of the best writers of his generation. He was awarded many prizes including the Nebula Award, the World Fantasy Award, the Lucca Best Writer Prize and the Hugo Award. He was internationally acclaimed as a comic-strip scriptwriter thanks to Sandman, a well-known character of Vertigo, an affiliated label of DC Comics. Gaiman, besides writing comic-strips, wrote also novels, TV screenplays, fairytales and children’s books, radio dramas and lyrics. Many of his short stories are collected in Smoke and Mirrors: Short Fictions and Illustrations. His novel American Gods received a Hugo award as best novel.
