Davide Longo was born in Carmagnola near Turin, in 1971. He is a writer, a documentary film maker and a teacher. His novels "Un mattino a Irgalem" (prizes Grinzane Cavour 2001 and Via Po for best first novel) and "Il mangiatore di pietre" (winner of Città di Bergamo and Viadana Prizes in 2004) were published by Marcos y Marcos. For Corraini Editors, after "La vita a un tratto" (2006) and "Lettera prima" (2007), he wrote the children's book "Pirulin senza parole", illustrated by Chiara Carrer. He edited the series "Racconti della montagna" (Einaudi, 2007). He also writes for the theatre and Radio (radioRai). Critics consider him one of the best Italian writers of the last years, he collaborates with Holden School in Turin where he teaches creative writing. He was one of the young authors participating in Scritture Giovani 2002. He writes for "Repubblica", "Avvenire", "Slow Food", "Donna", "Lettere" and "Travel". His books have been translated into many languages.
