Born in Trieste, Erika Rossi moved to Milan where she specialised at the Professional School for Visualisation and Audiovisual Production at the Università Cattolica. Over the last decade, she has talked about her own land by working with independent productions and gaining experience in the international market. As a director, she has participated in the Eurodoc Training programme and Archidoc. She has written and directed the following documentaries: "Trieste racconta Basaglia" (54', Italy 2012), a work on the closure of state mental hospitals in Italy, which won at the Trieste Film Festival, Premio del pubblico at the Lo Spiraglio festival in Rome, and selected in various international festivals: Glasgow, Spalato and Buenos Aires. "Il viaggio di Marco Cavallo" (60', Italy 2014), presented at the Torino Film Festival in the Diritti e Rovesci section, won the Premio Franco Rossano for best social-themed documentary. "Tutte le anime del mio corpo" (59', Italy-Slovenia 2016), a documentary developed in the framework of Eurodoc and Archidoc (La Femis), finalist at the Premio Solinas 2014 cinema documentary, had its international première at Visions du Rèel 2017.
