Francesca Scotti was born in Milan in 1981 and is a short story writer. A graduate in Law, she focused on workers' rights as well as her other roles as a university assistant and cello player. She has a great passion for oriental culture, particularly that of Japan. She was awarded the Fucini Prize 2011 for "Qualcosa di simile" ("Something similar"), a collection which was met with great success both by critics and the public. In 2013 she published the novel "L'origine della distanza" ("The origin of distance").
