Franco Marcoaldi

Franco Marcoaldi, a poet, historian, literary critic, reporter for "La Repubblica" lives and works in Rome. He is the author of "A mosca cieca" (Blindfolded) for Einaudi in 1992 (Premio Viareggio for poetry), "Voci rubate" (Stolen Voices) for Einaudi in 1993, "Celibi al limbo" (Singles in Limbo) for Einaudi in 1995, "Amore non Amore" (Non-love love) for Bompiani in 1997, "Un mese col Buddha", (A Month with the Buddha), for Bompiani in 1997, "Il vergine" (The Vergin) for Bompiani in 1998, "Prove di viaggio" (Journey Rehearsals) for Bompiani in 1999, "L'isola celeste" (The Celestial Island) for Einaudi in 2000 and "Animali in versi" (Animals in Verses) for Einaudi in 2006. He is also a very prolific theatre and music writer. He wrote many librettos. The "sconcerto" text, born in 2010 from a collaboration with actor/director Toni Servile and composer Giuseppe Battistellli was staged thanks to the direction and acting of Servile. In 2012, he published "La trappola"; in 2015, "Il mondo sia lodato". Together with the photographer Ferdinando Scianna, in 2017 he wrote the book "Di Bestie e di Animali".
