An essayist and a storyteller, he often appears on stage with singers and actors. He teaches at IED in Florence, at the Holden School of Turin and at Ca' Foscari University in Venice. A translator from English and French, he collaborates with several publishing houses. He works for Radio 3, where he conducts from 2014 the radio programme "Museo Nazionale" and he writes for "Alias" and "Il giornale dell'arte". Many of his most recent books are focused on history of art, including: "Il Caravaggio rubato" (Sellerio), "Siviero contro Hitler. La battaglia per l'arte" (Skira), "Memorie di un'opera d'arte.
