Lucia Corrain teaches Semiotics of Art on the Dams and Semiotics of the Visible course, part of the Master's Degree in Visual Arts of Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna. His research interests are focused on the language of the Visual Arts in general, and painting in particular: how a work of art communicates itself, how it challenges the viewer and what feelings it inspires in the beholder are some of the aspects that he studies in areas ranging from ancient to contemporary art. He is part of the scientific committee for the magazines "Visible", "Carte semiotiche", "Il capitale culturale. Studies on the Value of Cultural Heritage". He has been published in numerous Italian and international magazines ("Versus", "Visio", "Visible", "Degrée", ecc.); his books include: "Semiotica dell'invisibile. Quadri a lume di notte" (Esculapio, Bologna) and the recently published "Il velo dell'arte. Una rete di immagini tra passato e contemporaneità" (La casa Usher, Florence).
