A theatre and stage actor (Rome, 1963), he divides his career between feature films and stages, music videos and television series. He has been directed at the theatre by Arnoldo Foà ("La pace di Aristofane", "Adelchi"), Ennio Coltorti ("Carta e penna") and Angelo Orlando ("Casamatta vendesi" and "Messico e nuvole"). He made his cinema debut with Orlando in the film "L'anno prossimo vado a letto alle dieci" (1995). A multi-time nominee for the David di Donatello, he won a Nastro d'Argento in 2012 as best supporting actor for his role in the Carlo Verdone comedy, "Posti in piedi in paradiso". Also noteworthy are his roles in the films of Sergio Castellitto "Non ti muovere" (2004) and "L'amico del somaro" (2010), as are his roles in the police dramas by Stefano Sollima "ACAB" (2011), comedies by Fabio Genovese "Una famiglia perfetta" (2012), "Tutta colpa di Freud" (2014) and "Perfetti sconosciuti" (2016) and in "Loro chi?" by Francesco Miccichè and Fabio Bonifacci. He has appeared in numerous television series (including, "Buttafuori", "Romanzo Criminale", "Il mostro di Firenze") and remains in the hearts of many viewers for his role as Rocco Schiavone, a character taken from the pages of Antonio Manzini, in the Rai 2 series.
