Massimo Recalcati is one of the most renowned Italian Lacanian psychoanalysts. He is the founder of Jonas Onlus, a centre for the psychoanalytic research of new symptoms and he is Scientific Director of the School of Psychotherapy IRPA (Research Institute of Applied Psychoanalysis) in Milan. He teaches the psychopathology of eating behaviour at the University of Pavia. He was a clinical supervisor in various mental health facilities and is currently based in the Department of Children's Neuropsychiatry in S. Orsola Hospital in Bologna. He has collaborated with various Italian and international magazines and the cultural pages of "La Repubblica". He edits the series "Jonas: studies of applied psychoanalysis" at Franco Angeli and "Archipelago: research on contemporary psychoanalysis" at Bruno Mondadori. His books have been translated into several different languages.
