Since 2005, Matteo Motolese (Rome, 1972) teaches Italian Linguistics at Università La Sapienza in Rome. He mainly deals with Italian Language and Literature of the Renaissance. His latest monograph ("Italiano lingua delle arti") analyses the enormous influence of Italian on visual arts and architecture's modern lexicon. In 2014, together with Giuseppe Antonelli and Lorenzo Tomasi he edited the three-volume work "Storia dell'Italiano scritto".
