Friends in Fear

Fearphobia

The youngest volunteers at Festivaletteratura are more than ready to play their part. They will write about the events and workshops at Casa del Mantegna, which are dedicated to children.

We all have at least one fear that we must overcome, something that makes us tremble or feel uncomfortable. Led by Francesco Fagnani, the children in the audience spoke about their fears and examined them one by one, trying to understand how to defeat them, coming to the conclusion that the best way to do so is to use your imagination! Arming themselves with pens, pencils, paint and crayons, the young participants drew their 'favourite' fears. Their phobias gave way to creativity, and the children's pages were suddenly filled with the likes of 'boredomphobia', 'dogsthatjumpupatyouphobia', 'jellyfishphobia' and 'nothingphobia'. A fun and creative workshop that allowed the participants to become real friends in fear!
