Marriage, Civil Rights and the Freedom of Thought

Nicla Vassallo, Sebastiano Mauri and Vittorio Lingiardi

From the reflections of Nicla Vassallo, Sebastiano Mauri and Vittorio Lingiardi come phrases from tales that have yet to be told. Wouldn't it be nice if, one day, same-sex marriage existed? Not some type of ghost marriage, like the type proposed by Monica Cirinnà. Not a second rate marriage. But an equal marriage.

Wouldn't it be nice if these couple could get married? If their rights were recognised. If they could choose, wish, plan to have a child. Asking a mother to carry a child for nine months, not for money but for love. Go to a restaurant as a couple and be able to kiss each other, hold each other's hands without fear.

(caricamento...)

"It would be nice, but we're in Italy", someone might say. And wouldn't it be nice if that 'but' didn't exist? And to be recognised for our human differences, not for our homosexuality or heterosexuality. It would be nice to move towards such simplicity, without fear of placing boundaries around everyone and everything. It would be nice to see a family madeup of two fathers or two mothers and hear someone say on the street, "you have a beautiful family."
