Simonetta Bitasi, born in Mantua in 1966, took a graduation in Modern Languages at the University of Bologna with Ezio Raimondi. She then worked in a bookshop. She writes on books for Diario and Liber. In 2007 she is one of the collaborators working on the last edition of the Garzantina di Letteratura. She still runs a weekly cultural column for the Gazzetta di Mantova, she wrote for two years the book reviews for the monthly magazine GQ Italia and she long directed the press review on Radio Base. She is also a consultant for Festivaletteratura, for which she has created the Centoutori. Her work is to read, and she organizes reading sessions and meetings in the libraries of Mantua, bookshops and cultural circles. For many years now she has been promoting literature for children and grown-ups, also through the pages of the website Lettore Ambulante.
