Angela Terzani Staude

Angela Terzani Staude was born in Florence from German parents. She grew up in Italy and studied in Munich. Since 1972 she has lived with her husband, journalist and writer Tiziano Terzani and sons, living between Japan, India, Tibet and South-east Asia. She published Giorni cinesi, a diary followed by Giorni giapponesi. She also translated into Italian works by Titus Burckhardt (L'Alchimia e Scienza moderna e saggezza tradizionale), Jacob Burckhardt (Letture di storia e di arte), Theodor Geiger (Saggi sulla società industriale), LeRoi Jones (Quattro commedie per la rivoluzione nera) and Sigmund Freud (Cinque conferenze sulla psicanalisi). An active promoter of the work by Tiziano Terzani, she is the chairman of the jury for the Premio letterario internazionale Tiziano Terzani, founded in 2004 by the cultural association vicino/lontano, and in 2014 she signed the preface of the unpublished work Un'idea del destino.
