A literary critic, an established Professor of Italian Literature, a member of the Academy of the Lincei, Carlo Ossola has been a Professor at Collège de France since 2000 where he is the Chair of Modern Literatures of Romance Europe. He has recently published a well-known Introduction to the Divine Comedy, which won him the De Sanctis Prize in 2012. He has also edited the work of modern authors such as Juan de Valdès a Roland Barthes. His studies on Giuseppe Ungaretti are exemplary. He edited the new editions of Poesie complete and Traduzioni poetiche for Mondadori.
