Daniele Piccini (1972) was born in Città di Castello and lives between Sansepolcro and Milan. A poet and literary critic, he has focused his philological studies on Italian fourteenth century poetry, while his critical work looks mainly at twentieth century poetry. Having previously worked at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore Milan, he now teaches at the Seconda Università degli Studi in Naples. His work has been featured in the magazine Poesia published by Crocetti, in Famiglia Cristiana and Avvenire. He has published the following books of poetry: Terra dei voti (2003); Canzoniere scritto solo per amore (2005); Altra stagione (2006); Inizio fine (2013); Regni (2017). Among his works of criticism are: La poesia italiana dal 1960 a oggi (2005), Le poesie che hanno cambiato il mondo (2007); Letteratura come desiderio (2008); La gloria della lingua (2019); Luzi (2020). For the poetry collection released by Corriere della Sera (Un secolo di poesia), he edited the anthology dedicated to Mario Luzi entitled: Mondo in ansia di nascere.
