Marco Petrella

Marco Petrella is an illustrator and comic book artist. Born in Rome, where he lives and works, he has contributed to many different publications, including Tango, Cuore, l'Unità, il manifesto, I giorni cantati and la Repubblica. In 2004, he illustratedKoatti for Salani and in 2007 he released the illustrated collection Racconti per ascensore, with unreleased works written by Jonathan Lethem, Maurizio Maggiani, Aimee Bender and many others. For about 10 years, he has released a weekly literary review in the form of a comic for l'Unità, entrusting the task to his bookseller/alter ego Arturo, who explains the book that he is reading; with this he has contributed to the creation of an unexplored genre of the literary review, namely the Critic Novel. Hundreds of these works are now collected in the volume Stripbook. Tra le pagine di Arturo, libraio a colori (2013). In recent years, he has taken part in significant group exhibitions dedicated to illustration and graphic design. He has contributed to La Lettura, the cultural insert to the Corriere della sera, since June 2014.
