Born 1971 in Udine, Chiara Carminati graduated in Modern Literature with a dissertation on the symbolism of the sounds of poetry. She is especially interested in children poetry. She specialized in text analysis at Aix-en-Provence University working on Danil Pennac. Carminati writes and translates children poems and organizes courses, performances and seminars at libraries, schools and bookshops both in Italy and abroad. In 2012 she gained the Andersen Prize. Her last publications are: Animali diVersi nella fattoria, with Antonella Abbatiello (Lapis, 2020); Un pinguino a Trieste (Bompiani, 2021); Quattro passi, with Massimiliano Tappari (Lapis, 2021). She also wrote the manuals Fare poesia and Perlaparola. Bambini e ragazzi nelle stanze della poesia.
