Fabio Geda was born in Turin in 1972, where he still lives. A graduate in Science of Communication, he dealt with youngsters' issues for many years. He collaborates with the Holden School, Circolo dei Lettori and Salone del libro in Turin, he plays for the Osvaldo Soriano Football Club, the Italian writers' national team. His first novel published in 2007 is entitled Per il resto del viaggio ho sparato agli indiani; the work was shortlisted for the Premio Strega, it was nominated Best First Book 2007 by the radio programme Fahrenheit, won the Premio Marisa Rusconi and the Prix Jean Monnet des Jeunes Européens in France. The following year he published "L'esatta sequenza dei gesti", winner of the Grinzane Cavour Prize and the Readers' Choice Prize in Lucca. Nel Mare Ci Sono i Coccodrilli tells the real story of Enaiatollah Akbari, who fled Afghanistan when only a child and was forced to face a terrible journey through Iran, Turkey and Greece, arriving in Turin where he obtained political asylum and found a foster family to look after him. The book was translated into 32 languages and gained an international attention. In the last years he published the young-adult saga Berlin (2015-2019, with Marco Magnone); Fai qualcosa! (Mondadori, 2021); La scomparsa delle farfalle (Einaudi, 2023) and Song of myself. Un viaggio nella varianza di genere (Feltrinelli, 2024.
