Ginevra Bompiani, born in Milan, is a writer, publisher and translator. Daughter of Valentino Bompiani, she taught at the University of Siena for over twenty years and in 2002 with some friends she founded Nottetempo, a publishing house she directed until 2016. As a translator she worked with texts by Antonin Artaud, Louis Ferdinand Celine, Gilles Deleuze, Emily Brontë, Jane Austen and Sylvia Plath. She writes fictional books and essays. Her books, often published in France as well, include: "Le specie del sonno", "L'incanto", "Il ritratto di Sarah Malcolm", La stazione termale", "L'incantato", "La neve" and "L'ultima apparizione di José Bergamín".
