Massimo Recalcati is one of the most renowned Italian Lacanian psychoanalysts. He is the founder of Jonas Onlus, a centre for the psychoanalytic research of new symptoms and he is Scientific Director of the School of Psychotherapy IRPA (Research Institute of Applied Psychoanalysis) in Milan. He teaches the psychopathology of eating behaviour at the University of Pavia. He was a clinical supervisor in various mental health facilities and is currently based in the Department of Children's Neuropsychiatry in S. Orsola Hospital in Bologna. He has collaborated with various Italian and international magazines and the cultural pages of la Repubblica. He edits the series Jonas: studies of applied psychoanalysis at Franco Angeli and Archipelago: research on contemporary psychoanalysis at Bruno Mondadori. He also directs the series Eredi at Feltrinelli and Studi di Psicoanalisi at Mimesis. His books have been translated into several different languages. The most recents are: Mantieni il bacio. Lezioni brevi sull'amore (Feltrinelli, 2019) and La notte del Getsemani (Einaudi, 2019).
