Born in in Poggio Rusco in 1959, a journalist, novelist and essayist, Stefano Scansani he worked for a long time at the Gazzetta di Mantova and now he the editor in chief of La Gazzetta di Reggio. His literary activity draws inspiration on local history, from the Gonzaga Family to the people and things of the Po Valley, culinary tradition and bestiaries. He is at ease with historical novels (La pantofola di Matilda, L'amor morto), river surrealism (Bestiario podiense), culinary anthropology (Il mangiare cattivo), fantasies sacred and profane matters (Orapronobis). He is also the promoter of strange and unclassifiable events. At the 10th edtion of Festivaletteratura, he talked about his book Fenomenologia del Maiale with Dario Fo. The itinerary Sottosopra Mantova, in collaboration with Roberto Soggia, presented at the 12th edition of the Festival, will draw inspiration on his new book, Omnia Mantova (Editore Tre Lune), a guide that illustrates the entire city, both known and secret.
