Pierdomenico Baccalario, born in Acqui Terme in 1974, is a fantasy and adventure fiction writer, mainly for a young readership. After his degree in Law, he divided his time between being a lawyer, a children's book writer and a freelance journalist, till he gave up the carreer as a lawyer to dedicate himself to children's literature, collaborating with the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa. He contributed to the success of the cultural and entertainment association Anatomika, where he planned out some role plays, board games and videogames. His most famous publications include the series Ulysses Moore, Candy Circle (with Alessandro Gatti) e The Academy (with Davide Morosinotto), translated and published in many countries. He is known under the pseudonym of Pd Bach, Ulysses Moore, Ciro Cabala, Amelia Drake. In 1998 he was awarded the "Battello a Vapore" prize for children's literature. All along writing his books, he is also always looking for new talents. His books have been translated in many languages.
