Marco Dotti is a teacher of professions in publishing at the University of Pavia and he directs the gli Antecedenti series for O barra O edizioni. He has written essays on Antonin Artaud, Jean Cocteau, Léon-Paul Fargue, Jean Genet and Pierre Guyota and he works with, or has worked with, Alias - il manifesto, Lettera internazionale and L'Indice. Particularly sensitive to issues surrounding public ethics, he is one of the founders of the No Slot Association; he also coordinates a working group studying gambling and its implications in Italian society with the monthly magazine Vita. In monographs such as Slot City (2013), Il calcolo dei dadi (2013) and Ludocrazia (2016, with Marcello Esposito), he has moved deftly into a crossroads of cultural anthropology, behavioural sciences and social ethics to sketch out one of the most insidious mass disorders in our society, an object of interest not only for criminal organisations but also, and especially, to a generalised business model that with the support of neuroscience, biomarketing, information technology and behavioural psychology seeks to erode the culture of good gaming.
