Born in Seregno on 25th September 1958, is an actor, a musician and an illustrator. After working for La Scala theatre as a mime in the opera The Flood, directed by Peter Ustinov, he learnt to play the bagpipes. With Bano Ferrari and Carlo Pastori he founds Teatro d'Artificio, and with Walter Muto and Franco Svanoni he creates the band Badalabanda. He also acted in The true story of Snow White and I love Canberra directed by Bolek Polivka. With his friend Francesco Svanoni he thought out a new version of Richard III by Shakespeare, which leads to the play entitled Richard the Invalid, my Reign for a Parrot, making its debut at Sucre Festival in Bolivia in 2001. In 2011 he wrote and performed the play Lo stampatore Zollinger, after the novel by Pablo d'Ors. Furthermore Abbiati worked with Carlo Mazzacurati on the films La giusta distanza and La Passione and built a theatre in one of the most violent parts of Salvador de Bahia. His passion for Moby Dick, was the very original play Una tazza di mare in tempesta (Premio Fiesole per le arti), followed by the illustrations for Matteo Codignola's book Un tentativo di balena, (2008) and by the illustrated novel Moby Dick o la Balena (2017). In 2020 he wrote the literary critic Simone Marchesi the book A proposito di Dante. Cento passi nella Commedia con disegni.
