Silvia Bencivelli is an Italian scientific journalist. After graduating in Medicine and Surgery she attended a Master's in Communication of Science at Sissa in Trieste and since 2004 she has written about science for magazines and newspapers both online and on paper. From 2005 to 2011, she worked at the editorial office for "Radio 3 Scienza", a Rai Radio 3 scientific newspaper. She actually works for Pagina3 and she teaches multimedia scientific journalism in several universities. She collaborates with publishing houses (Il Saggiatore, Sironi, De Agostini scuola) and communication agencies (La Fabbrica, effecinque). She also produced several short films and the documentary Segna con me directed by Chiara Tarfano. Her books include: Perché ci piace la musica, (2007 and 2012, tradotto in English, French and Spanish); Comunicare la scienza (2013, with Francesco Paolo De Ceglia); Irrazionali e contenti (2015, with Giordano Zevi); È la medicina, bellezza! (2016, with Daniela Ovadia); the novel Le mie amiche streghe (2017) and Sospettosi (2019).
