Stefania Bertola alternates her work as a writer with that of a screenwriter and translator. Born in San Mauro Torinese, she gained extensive experience in publishing, translating works by Ian McEwan, Philip Roth, Paul Beatty and Sophie Kinsella among many others. She wrote several radio and tv programs, theatrical pieces and screenplays for cinema. In 2005, together with Michele Di Mauro, she wrote the theatre piece Othello, per morire in un tuo bacio, a musical tragedy for two actors. Her narrative work is representative of a romance genre that mixes sentiment and comedy, with a look towards English-language literature and Chick lit. She made her debut in 1989 with the novel Luna di Luxor. This was followed by Se mi lasci fa male, Ne parliamo a cena, Aspirapolvere di stelle, Biscotti e sospetti, A neve ferma, La soavissima discordia dell'amore, Romanzo rosa, Ragazze mancine and the gardening diary Il giardino di guerriglia. In 2010, she published the short story collection Il primo miracolo di George Harrison; in 2016, she released her first children's novel, Solo Flora, followed in 2017 by her personal version of Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility, in 2018 by the short story Undicimila, in 2019 by Divino amore and in 2020 by the new novel Via delle Magnolie 11.
