Giulio Busi

Giulio Busi (Bologna, 1960) is a renowned Italian Hebrew scholar. After teaching Hebrew language and literature at the Università Ca' Foscari in Venice and at the Università di Bologna, he became a professor at the Freie Universität in Berlin where he runs the Institute of Jewish studies. His work has a particular focus on medieval studies and Jewish culture; he later focused his attention on Jewish symbolism and qabbalah, analysing the history, literary values and aesthetic implications. He has devoted several works to the relationship between Judaism and Christianity in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. He often contributes to specialist magazines and newspapers such as Tagesspiegel and Il Sole 24 Ore. His works include: Qabbalah visiva, Giovanni Pico della Mirandola. Mito, magia, Qabbalah (with Raphael Ebgi).
