Her Kurdistan and the destruction of beauty
Choman Hardi's poetry can be considered as reportage in verse: she talks about Kurdistan, how war transforms everyday objects into symbols of death, even the destruction of beauty itself. But she also teaches us not to lose hope: "I thought I would never go back to Kurdistan, but I was wrong". We also asked her which book she would like to re-read, given that it is one of the this year's themes.
