The Italian journalist Christian Elia has reported in more than 40 countries. For nine years he has been a correspondent in the Middle East, the Balkans and the Mediterranean for E., the official Emergency's monthly magazine, and he was amongst the founders of PeaceReporter. He is the author of several books including Il respiro di Poveglia (2017, with Beatrice Mancini), Walking the line (2018, with Cecilia Dalla Negra e Gianluca Cecere), Oltre i muri (2019) and Grande Padre. Viaggio nella memoria dell'Albania (2022, con Camilla de Maffei), all published by Milieu Edizioni. In the past he made the documentaries The Empty House (together with Gianluca Cecere, Angelo Miotto and Claudia Pozzoli) and A different crisis. His works have earned him the Baldoni Award, the Mediterranean Journalists Award, the IMMaginario DOC Festival, a special mention by the jury at the Siani Reportage Prize, the "il Reportage" Award and the #dipubblicodominio Award. Together with Angelo Miotto he founded and co-directs the online magazine Q Code Magazine since 2013; he also directs since 2020 ArabPop, a magazine dedicated to contemporary Arab arts and literature.
