Novelist and translator (Rome, 1984), he lives between Berlin and Italy and teaches at the Scuola Holden. He has published four novels with Bompiani and several books with other publishers. As a translator, he alternates between classic and contemporary authors, working on texts by Jeff VanderMeer, Dany Laferrière, Maxence Fermine, Donald Barthelme, Hanif Kureishi (with Ivan Cotroneo), P. G. Wodehouse, Oscar Wilde, Alexandre Dumas, and many others. He is also editing a new edition of George Orwell's works for Bompiani. He contributes to Il Post and has written for various publications, including Internazionale and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. His novel Le perfezioni (2022) won the Premio Mondello and has been translated into seventeen countries. In 2023, he published La chiave di Berlino with Einaudi, a work in which autobiography intertwines with the history of a city and an entire generation, followed in 2026 by the novel Una splendida rovina.
