Located at Strada Mirandola 2, in the hamlet of Fossato within the Municipality of Rodigo, this 18th-century villa—still privately owned today—is set within a typical Mantuan rural courtyard purchased by the Nievo family in 1756. For Ippolito Nievo (1831–1861), it was a deeply cherished countryside home where he spent extended periods and authored several works, including the final section of Le confessioni d'un italiano (The Confessions of an Italian). Alongside other landmarks in Fossato, such as the beautiful Villa Balestra, it is fully integrated into the Museo diffuso del Risorgimento.
