Antonio Manzini (Rome, 1964) is a director, actor, scriptwriter and writer. One of Andrea Camilleri's student at Accademia Nazionale d'Arte Drammatica, wrote his first short story in collaboration with Niccolò Amanita for the anthology Crimini. In 2005, he published the novel Sangue marcio with Fazi and in 2007 with the publication of La giostra dei criceti consolidated his success with readers and critics alike. After some short stories, he wrote Pista nera in 2013 where Rocco Schiavone appears for the first time. Manzini's antihero, very successful, becomes a very famous figure in contemporary Italian detective story fiction and is the protagonist of sixteen more books (La costola di Adamo, Non è stagione, Era di maggio, Cinque indagini romane per Rocco Schiavone, 7-7-2007, Pulvis et umbra, Fate il vostro gioco, Rien ne va plus, Ah l'amore l'amore, Vecchie conoscenze, Le ossa parlano, ELP, Riusciranno i nostri eroi..., Il passato è un morto senza cadavere, Sotto mentite spoglie e il più recente I tramezzini di Rocco Schiavone).
