Born in 1975 in Arzignano, in the province of Vicenza, he is the director of the Museo Egizio in Turin since 2014. An Egyptologist of international renown with extensive experience in the museum sector, he trained in the Netherlands and has curated various exhibition projects both there and in Japan, Finland, Spain, and Scotland. At the helm of the Museo Egizio, he has strengthened important international collaborations with museums, universities, and research institutes, while consolidating the museum's educational and civic role within the urban fabric. He combines his managerial duties with teaching positions at the universities of Turin and Pavia, the Postgraduate School of Archaeological Heritage at the Università Cattolica in Milan, New York University Abu Dhabi, and the University Institute for Higher Studies (IUSS) in Pavia. His archaeological work is also noteworthy, including excavation campaigns in Luxor and Saqqara. He has recently authored the essays Le memorie del futuro (with Evelina Christillin, Einaudi, 2021) and La cultura è di tutti (Einaudi, 2024), and edited the commemorative volume La memoria è il nostro futuro. 200 anni di Museo Egizio (Franco Cosimo Panini, 2024).
