Katia De Marco, born in Piedmont and now living in Sardinia, graduated in Foreign Languages and Literatures from the University of Milan. She translates from English and, above all, from Swedish. For over twenty years, she has worked with various Italian publishing houses (Iperborea, Marsilio, Einaudi). Among her favorite authors there are undoubtedly Björn Larsson (whose acclaimed translations include The True Story of Pirate Long John Silver, The Celtic Ring, The Harbor of Cross-Crossed Dreams, and The Wisdom of the Sea) and Per Olov Enquist (of whom she translated Lewi's Journey, The Book of Blanche and Marie, the magnificent autobiographical novel Another Life, and The Book of Parables). Over the course of her long career, she has also translated works by Jan Guillou, Mikael Niemi, Åsa Larsson, Steve Sem-Sandberg, and many others. In 2020, she was awarded the prestigious Swedish Academy Translation Prize.
