Antonio Vincenti, aka Sualzo (1969), a would-be saxophonist and self-taught illustrator, has written and illustrated for a number of different Italian publishing houses. His books have been published in France, Portugal, Croatia, Switzerland, Poland, New Zealand, Malaysia, Japan, China, South Korea and the United States. With his first graphic novel L'improvvisatore (Rizzoli-Lizard, later reissued in 2024 by Tunué), he won the prize for best screenplay at the Festi'BD di Moulins 2009 and was among the five finalists at the Premio Micheluzzi 2010. Together with Silvia Vecchini, he is the author of Fiato sospeso (Tunué), which won the Premio Boscarato and the Premio Orbil in 2012 for best comic for children and teens. He published Fermo in 2013 for Bao Publishing, followed in 2014-15 by two books on the adventures of a donkey (Gaetano) and his little cub (Zolletta). In 2025, Tunué published the graphic novel Per tutte le altre destinazioni, enriched by the verses of Silvia Vecchini, which revisits the fates of the unforgettable characters from Fermo. His latest works with Silvia Vecchini are: the novel Prima che sia notte (Bompiani, 2020 and 2023); Le parole possono tutto (Il Castoro, 2021, winner of the Premio Andersen and Premio Micheluzzi); Quello nuovo (Il Castoro, 2021); I bambini si rompono facilmente (Bompiani, 2023); and Del buio non ho paura (Il Castoro, 2026).
